Help Us End Homelessness
Some supporters give their time and talent by volunteering in our food pantry, on a committee or the Board of Directors, in advocacy activities or for special events. Others donate food, clothing and other necessities. Many of our champions make financial donations or get their employees involved.
At Ritter Center, we value each and every way our supporters are changing the lives of low-income seniors, veterans, and families and those experiencing homelessness. Check out all the ways you can make a difference.

Make an Annual or Monthly Gift
Your gift supports all of Ritter Center’s programs and services including medical and mental health care, housing support, benefits assistance, our food pantry, and seasonal programs.
Donate Essentials
If you would like to donate critical and everyday necessities, please view our list of high-need items that we regularly provide to our clients and patients. You can now drop items off Monday through Friday 8:30am – 3:30pm!
Seasonal Programs & Campaigns
Thanks to generous donors we can offer season programs which provide food and living essentials at key times. We run dedicated campaigns to fund our Back-to-School Backpack Program, Thanksgiving Meal Kits, a Holiday Gift Card Program and our annual Holiday Dinner for people experiencing homelessness.
Planned Giving
Make a significant impact by leaving a legacy gift in your will. When you commit to a planned gift, you’ll become a member of our Casa Azul Society where you’ll receive special communications and invitations to a new annual event.
Stock Donations
A great way to maximize the tax benefits of supporting Ritter Center while avoiding costly capital gains taxes is to donate appreciated stock. Speak to our Financial Advisor to learn more.
Volunteer with Us
We need your time and talent! Imagine yourself packing and distributing food in the food pantry, serving a holiday meal, preparing backpacks for kids, writing thank you notes and holiday cards, helping at a special event, or joining our Board of Directors.

Sleepout to End Homelessness
Under the Stars: A Sleepout to End Homelessness is now a YEAR-ROUND fundraising activity you can do with your family and friends. For just one night during the year, we invite community members to sleep outside of the comfort of their beds and raise funds for our vital services and programs to prevent and resolve homelessness. Under the Stars: A Fundraiser to End Homelessness in Marin
Join guest speakers Mayor Kate Colin of San Rafael and Emmy-winning reporter Cornell Barnard from ABC7 on May 16th, 2024, from 5:30-8pm on the Maple Lawn, Elks Lodge, San Rafael for an inspiring evening of great food, family fun, and fundraising for Ritter Center.
