Medical Care

Ritter Center’s medical clinic provides high-quality primary and preventative medical care to clients regardless of someone’s ability to pay.

Clinic Hours: Monday through Friday | 8:00am – 4:30pm | Closed for lunch between 12:00pm – 1:00pm.

Walk-ins are always welcomed. Scheduling appointments is encouraged.

Our doctor and nurse practitioners provide primary medical care services for our clients, often treating chronic diseases like hypertension, diabetes and asthma. Whenever our clients need help from a specialist, we provide referrals to medical professionals in the community and then oversee their ongoing treatment via a nurse case manager. A provider develops, implements, and reviews healthcare plans for patients that are geriatric, recovering from serious injuries, or dealing with chronic illnesses.

As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we provide services to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay. Our services are free for those with incomes below the poverty line, and we use a sliding fee scale for individuals with incomes between 101% and 200% of the Federal Poverty Line, offering discounts based on family size and income. We also accept Medi-Cal and Medicare and receive enhanced federal funding to support these services.

When our clients are hospitalized and need a safe place to recover, we partner with Marin General, Novato Community Hospital, and Homeward Bound. Patients without stable housing are discharged to “medical respite beds” at Homeward Bound, where they can recover under the care of our nurse practitioners.

As the only FQHC Health Care for the Homeless site in the area, we are specially equipped to support high-need populations facing barriers like substance use, mental health issues, and housing instability. For many, Ritter Center is a place of last resort where they receive compassionate, respectful care.
