Ritter Center’s medical clinic provides high-quality primary and preventative medical care to clients regardless of someone’s ability to pay.
Our Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) deliver comprehensive primary care services, with a strong focus on managing chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and asthma. When specialized care is required, we coordinate referrals to trusted community providers and ensure continuity of care through ongoing oversight by a nurse case manager.
Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants are responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously evaluating individualized care plans tailored to patients who are geriatric, recovering from serious injuries, or living with chronic illnesses, ensuring care remains patient-centered and outcomes-driven.

As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we are committed to providing high-quality healthcare to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay. We support uninsured individuals and low-income families by offering services at reduced or no cost through a sliding fee schedule based on income and household size. We accept a wide range of insurance plans, including Blue Cross PPO, Blue Shield PPO, Aetna PPO, UnitedHealthcare PPO, Partnership Health Plan, Medi-Cal, and Medicare, and receive enhanced federal funding to help ensure care remains accessible to our community.
When patients are hospitalized and require a safe, supportive environment for recovery, we coordinate medical respite care through our partnership with Homeward Bound. This collaboration allows patients without stable housing to recover in a structured setting while continuing to receive medical oversight and support from an RN.
As the only FQHC Health Care for the Homeless site in the area, we are uniquely equipped to serve individuals with complex needs, including those facing substance use disorders, mental health challenges, and housing instability. For many, Ritter Center is more than a clinic—it is a trusted place of care, dignity, and compassion when it is needed most.
