Is Ritter Center closing?
No! We are moving to a brand new facility just 2 blocks away. All services continue.
Will my provider change?
No. All of our staff are moving with us. You’ll see the same familiar faces.
Where exactly is the new location?
800 A Street, San Rafael, CA 94901 — on the corner of A Street and Second Street. It’s only 2 blocks from our current location at 16 Ritter Street.
How do I get there by bus/train?
We’re a 10-minute walk from the San Rafael Transit Center, where Golden Gate Transit buses and the SMART train arrive.
Is there parking?
Yes! We have a small on-site parking lot with EV charging stations.
When is the move happening?
Ritter Center will begin our move in late May 2026. Departments will move in stages, beginning with the Community Market (previously known as Food Pantry) and Case Management.
The Community Market and Case Management will be closed May 28th-June 2nd, 2026. They will re-open at 800 A St on June 3rd.
All departments will be fully operational at 800 A St by July 1, 2026.
Will services be interrupted?
We are working hard to minimize any disruption. Most services will continue as usual. Specific departments may have short closures during their move — we’ll communicate those dates in advance.
