Information on Homelessness in Marin County

While the economy is roaring for some, the reality is that many individuals and families in Marin County are facing increasingly harder times. Housing costs keep climbing and, as a result, more individuals are living on the streets, in vehicles, or in the hills around our county. Others are on the brink of homelessness.
Every two years in January, communities across the country conduct comprehensive one-day counts of their homeless population to gain a better understanding of the individuals who are currently experiencing homelessness. This survey also enables them to apply for Federal funding for local homeless programs.
Marin County’s last count was conducted on January 25, 2019.
And while we don’t have the figures for this year’s count yet, we can look at the 2017 Point-In-Time Count for some important information.
