2016 Holidays at Ritter Center
The end-of-year holiday season is a great time for us at Ritter Center. Not only do we get a chance to reflect on the work we have done throughout the past 12 months, but we get to help Marin donors play Santa Claus and provide holiday cheer to families and adults in need. And year after year, thanks to your support, our programs are a huge success.
On Saturday December 10th, we hosted our Family to Family gift program for clients of our agency. What a great day, filled with lots of smiles. Fifty-five happy families with a total of 114 kids got a chance to meet Santa and receive toys and household items to brighten their holidays. On Tuesday December 13th, we had our Toy Store, open to all other families in the county. This year, thanks to the contributions from the Marin Formative Christian Preschool and Lucas Valley Community Church, Strawberry Point School, Westminster Presbyterian Church, Bel Aire School, Mill Valley Recreational, Drake High School, Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical, Enterprise Events Group, Chrisad Inc., Saint Paul’s Church, Wells Fargo Advisors, Mark Day School, MCE San Rafael, Redwood Credit Union (Novato and San Rafael branches,) and Trinity Preschool, we collected over 1000 wonderful gifts.
Thanks to the help of our great team of volunteers, including students from the Mark Day School and staff from the San Rafael Embassy Suites, by the end of the day, every single book and toy was gone. 400 kids and their families were thrilled by your kindness. On Wednesday December 14th, our case management staff distributed gifts to 46 seniors and disabled adults.
Year after year, we are humbled by the kindness and love the Marin community shows our agency and the families and individuals we serve. We look forward doing it all over again next year. Thank you and Happy Holidays!!
