Poverty Causes Hunger in Marin County
Every week, our Food Pantry provides nutritious food and everyday essentials to hundreds of individuals and families from low-income families and to those experiencing homelessness. Having regular access to our Food Pantry prevents homelessness for many of our clients. Saving money on food and essentials helps our clients to afford their rent and other monthly bills.

Our pantry distributes 22,000 bags of groceries annually to over 375+ families every week to our neighbors in need.
Pantry clients receive fresh produce and nutritious food made possible by San Francisco-Marin Food Bank, Extrafood.org, and Ritter Center’s own generous community of volunteers, donors, and faith-based groups like Saint Anselm Church, regularly collecting food and essentials year-after-year.

Client Services & Seasonal Programs
Individuals and families facing housing insecurity and homelessness rely on Ritter Center for access to laundry facilities, to receive mail, access showers, clothing, toiletries, and other everyday essentials.
Our Seasonal Programs provide extra support and care when our clients need it most. We host community events throughout the year where we promote women’s health, distribute backpacks, hand out Thanksgiving Meal kits, give holiday gift cards to families in need and serve a hot meal to our unsheltered neighbors, bringing hope for the holidays.
